FLAIR is a monthly women’s magazine published in Germany and Austria under license from the Milan-based publishing house MONDADORI. The title stands for a distinctive combination of visual opulence and editorial sophistication, positioning itself in the premium segment of international fashion and lifestyle journalism.
High-end photo productions, extravagant styling, and a refined layout form the visual stage for a rich editorial concept, covering fashion, beauty, culture, and contemporary lifestyle. With its avant-garde journalistic approach, FLAIR addresses a design-savvy, culturally engaged readership and sets high standards in both content and visual quality within the European magazine landscape.
Between 2013 and 2015, I served as the responsible Art Director for FLAIR Magazine in Vienna. During this period, Ahead Media acquired the publishing license from Klamdt Media, initiating a comprehensive strategic and editorial repositioning of the magazine.
In close collaboration with editorial teams in Berlin and Vienna, FLAIR was transformed into a mono-thematic monthly publication with localized content for both the Austrian and German markets. The objective was to create a customized, culturally relevant edition for the German-speaking audience while maintaining the international DNA and premium visual standards of the original brand.
My responsibilities included the overall visual direction, layout system development, team leadership within the design department, and the coordination of editorial production processes. The result was a coherent, high-quality magazine format that successfully combined fashion, home, beauty, lifestyle, and event coverage within a strong and recognizable visual framework.
